I just want to reiterate that you don't need a Kindle to read Kindle formatted books. Amazon makes Kindle readers for Macs, PCs, iPhones, Blackberry's and every other device in your home short of the kitchen toaster (and I've heard the toaster version is in beta.) Best of all, the readers are free!
